Have you lost hope in yourself and this world? February 21, 2010 author Darryl W. view 598 John 4:5-6 Now Jacob's well was there.  Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey sat thus on the well; and it was about the sixth hour.  There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water; Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. Why did this woman come to the well at the 6st hour (around Noon), the hottest time of the day.  When I was in Korea several years ago I went to the local water spot in the city when my wives family lived.  We went early in the morning on a hot summer day.  It was a long walk and as we got there a lot of people were drawing water too.  Why did this women come at this time?  The bible doesn't say but we can guess.  She was a women with a bad past.  Jesus says, Go get your husband.  She replies, I have no husband.  That means she has no one to depend on.  No one she can rely on.  The duty of a husband is to take care of his wife and family.  The wife should be able to safely rely on him.  Jesus said you say it truly, you have had 5 husbands and the one you live with now isn't your husband.  She was shocked.  No matter how we try we can't keep anything from God.  He knows all.  This women was met by Jesus, she didn't come to met him.  She was ashamed to go out with others and she only went out alone.  As she realized who he was then she left her waterpot and went into the city, telling all about Jesus.  That day many people met Jesus and changed.  They believed.  We should live with this women's heart.  We should witness with this heart.  If we do, many people willl change.  She accepted His heart and was no longer ashamed but thankful.  God is spirit and we must worship him in spirit and in truth.
