The long waited, first England World Camp finally began in London.

A week before the camp, the volunteer students from England and many European countries gathered and helped with promotions and preparations for the London camp. The promotion was focused on Croydon, a district in which the camp is being held. Interested in the camp, volunteer program, and bible seminar, many students and denizens have contacted us for information. Among them, a 60-year-old guy, Mr. Han Eui Jung, who came to England about 30 years ago, saw the advertisement for the camp and volunteer program (which read “Anybody is Welcome”) and applied as a volunteer to help the preparation.

On 18th, we had an unprecedented, special moment in the evening. We held a charity concert in philanthropic land of England. Sister Choo Mi Ha, a kayagum player, and a next generation pianist, Fernando Altamura, who in 2006 had his first recital, “Italy’s rising star” in Korea, played to celebrate the eve of England World Camp. Altamura, regardless of his busy performance schedule, made time to come and prepared the camp.

On 19th, in the evening, the opening ceremony began with British VIPs and the participants from Spain, Portugal, Czech, Italy, and other European countries. First, the opening performance, “Ta-shim,” a drum dance from Kangreung Lincoln School called for a start, followed by a congratulating message from Congressman Jung Byung Gook and a welcome message from the Redbridge Mayor. Above all, Gracias Choir’s first performance in England captivated everyone in the hall. At the end, the ceremony was concluded with Pastor Park’s message, “Everyone, open your heart.” After the ceremony, the Mayor greeted Pastor Park and wittily replied to Pastor’s message with a same remark.

Before the opening ceremony, Revelation TV, a station who put our commercials and interview on air for the camp, invited Pastor Park for an interview. After the interview, Yemi, the interviewer, asked for another interview, saying that she would like to talk more in detail. She also brought her two sons to attend the opening ceremony, and afterwards she had them registered as a volunteer to participate.

For this camp, we have invited all denizens of London with a free ticket to Gracias Choir performance and Pastor Park’s seminar; many British are actually attending each session with interests in World Camp and Bible Seminar. Each time they hear Pastor’s sermon, they are amazed. For a long time, England had been a center for the Works of the Gospel in the past yet nowadays it is rather hard to find the trace of the glorious history. Now, the Lord has resumed the works of the Gospel in England through the World Camp. Please, pray for us.
