On July 10th, Saturday, There was an one-day seminar at the prison located in Homabay, Nyanza with Pastor Sung Hwa Cho from Nairobi Church. The event was more meaningful because we were able to see God who has been working through the GBS as we prepare to hold the seminar.
Since the GBS’ analog broadcasting began in Kisumu, the number of audience from unknown cities in Nyanza has been rapidly growing. After the chaplain in Homabay prison watched the GBS, he suggested a partnership between Good News Mission and Homabay prison then we were able to begin the seminar.
Although there were hardships and complications, we were able to keep comforts in our hearts through the word which said “God and the servants of God are pleased with the GBS being used for the works of the Gospel.”
During the seminar, Good News Mission Kenya donated TVs and antennas to each center for them to watch the GBS channel. They promised to watch “Pastor Ock Soo Park’s Bread of Life” every day for their reform and rehabilitation program, and they also added that they would watch Sunday sermon from Good News Mission every Sunday. On top of that, they allowed Good News Mission to have some religious activities on 1.2 acre land adjacent to the prison.
At the event, the 9th class Good News Corps students presented some cultural performances, helping the inmates to open their hearts wide.
Pastor Sung Hwa Cho, emphasizing that the thoughts we have been embracing are not from our own selves, but from Satan, gave a lecture on how Jesus finished our sins and set us free from Satan’s heart.
From now on, the prison will invite Good News Mission once every month for an one-day seminar and hold bible study time to time.
TV with the Gospel is reaching those cities, which we could not have gone so far, with the love of Jesus. We hope that soon the GBS, being led by God, will reach not only Kisumu area, but also Kenya and the whole continent of Africa.
