On June 19, IYF Tacoma Center held the IYF Fundraising Event & Infosession in support of the World Camp at UCLA this August. About 30 new people drove through a rain to attend the event. Many college students who have been connected recently and friend and family members of brothers and sisters all showed up to make the event much more significant.

On top of that, the fact that it was the first time American sisters mainly organized an event added more meaning to the event and grace to our hearts.
“Where God works, Satan works as well,” just like that word, we faced some difficulty when we were preparing for the event.
The Samoan group who promised to come and perform their cultural dances at the event cancelled on us two days prior to the date. Their sudden back out could have hindered the show, but the IYF Tacoma students united their hearts and prepared alternative dances in prayers.
At the event, though we were lacking God helped us to perform in grace. The attendees had their biggest smile on their faces during the performances and opened their hearts wide.
After the performance, we had a time to watch IYF and GoodNews Corps introduction video.
Those video helped the attendees to be more familiar with the organization IYF and GoodNews Corps program.

After the videos, we had another performance by the students, and Pastor Kab Taig Lim, the IYF director of Tacoma region, gave a welcoming speech.
Pastor Lim introduced IYF saying, “IYF opens the new path for the young men and women through its core values – challenge, cohesion, and change,” and briefly preached the Gospel. The attendees sincerely took heed of the message.

A delicious dinner that American and Korean sisters prepared with all their hearts followed after.
Everyone at the event appreciated and enjoyed the foods.

While the attendees were having dinner, all of sudden the mini culture took them to the world tour.
At the IYF Booth, the guide mainly promoted the World Camp which will be held at University of California, Los Angeles this summer. Meanwhile, the representatives of many countries like Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Russia, etc, had a time to introduce their countries in the traditional outfit. Being fascinated, the attendees could not hide their amazement and excitement.
When we finished all the programs, the friends and family members, who had no or other beliefs, said in chorus that they opened their hearts to Good News Mission and IYF. We were very thankful to God.

Through this event, we were able to experience God who has always been with us.
Also the American sisters gained hope to be continuously used for the works of the Gospel instead of living a life for themselves, and the Korean brothers and sisters were happy to volunteer and pour their hearts for the Gospel.
We are very hopeful and grateful in faith that God will continuously work for IYF Tacoma region and will bless the World Camp at UCLA.
